Not really used that much as can see up close for a short time. Clean, store in case, carried around but not used - dirty! Finally figured out the case was getting old and the lining was deteriorating and rubbing off onto the lens and that was the dirt. New case - solved that problem! BM> thermometer shows "69ø".
