That wasn't where his swelling was.

And unless specially made for the use ice packs, the package of frozen
peas, box of frozen broccoli, lunch tote ice pack, and the like should 
be wrapped in a few layers of cloth towel so not in direct contact with 
the skin: freezer is too cold and the ice pack wil freeze and therefore 
damage the skin.
