Subj : Hugs, COVID-19, etc. To : Nancy Backus From : Daryl Stout Date : Wed Jun 24 2020 14:51:00 Nancy, NB> Today at church someone I regularly would exchange hugs with decided he NB> was ready for hugging again... after a quick think, I decided I was NB> too... it's been too long without hugs.... ;) We feel that way with square dancing, when we give each other hugs, known as "yellow rocks". The first night of lessons, all these women I didn't know, were giving me these "yellow rocks", and I thought "What have I gotten myself into??!!". But, after graduation, it was like "Next, Please!!" . One of the married ladies I dance with, told me that, she too, was apprehensive of these "strange men" hugging her. But, she was like me afterwards, with "I could get used to this". With social distancing with COVID-19, I think only 1 club in Arkansas has resumed dancing. I don't care if we have to dance with masks and gloves...at least we can dance. NB> Probably still a safer alternative... I'm getting a little more lax on NB> that again... but the stores have been good about wiping them down NB> regularly anyway now... I still do that at the store, anyway. BM> Maybe the joke about the monk 'trainee' who was only allowed to speak BM> once a year a single word. Goes something like the first year "cold"; BM> second "uncomfortable", third year . Fifth year the head BM> monk summons the trainee for their annual meeting. "I'm letting you BM> go: all you have done since getting here is complain, complain, BM> complain". NB> Yup... didn't get the concept of self-denial... ;) Or where in the monastery, where the monks gathered. They waited for the E-Monk (the head one, as it were) to arrive in the eating hall. They would say "Good Morning" to him, before they began eating breakfast... and "Good Evening" to him, before they began eating dinner. Well, a nervous monk was in there, and they all chanted "Good Morning", then after a short pause, you heard "Good Evening". You could've heard a pin drop!! The E-Monk looked around and intoned "Someone Chanted Evening". NB> ... Eating an artichoke is like getting to know someone really well I think I'll pass. Daryl .... The scales in the doctors offices offend me. Remove them! === MultiMail/Win32 v0.50 --- SBBSecho 3.11-Win32 * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - tbolt.synchro.net (454:1/33) .
