Subj : Fiber Optic Update To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Mon Jun 22 2020 09:41:00 Might be a duplicate - I didn't see it upload. Hi Daryl! BM> So theoretically my problems will be over around noon tomorrow. Or BM> today as this will be uploaded my tomorrow. DS> That's because this week was next week last week. That's right where I left it! And sort of along the line of confusion, thet tech who was here Friday had a workorder for a complete install, which is the drop from the pole, for lack of a better term Demarc terminals, etc. He was a bit confused when I was telling him no, he just needed to install the router. He gets what needs to be done but is still a bit confused because 'stuck' on his workorder stating a different job. Take him down to the basement to where the modem is -- can sort of see his brain fast- forwarding though the steps to get to the 'Install Router' step. Actually a fun session: he saw my old-to-antique tube-type oscilloscope on the bench -- vaguely knew what it was. Also decided to have a little tech-fun. I have a few old serial port data switches I haven't figured out if I want to toss of give away (Ky?) so he asked to move and if he could take a picture - so somewhere out there there's a joke picture with a data switch under a fiber-optic modem and router stacked with a caption/comment something like "the customer can't understand why not connecting above 1 Kbps"! :) ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
