Subj : Long Gone Foods To : Nancy Backus From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat Jun 20 2020 11:32:00 Nancy, NB>> I think we pretty much figured out that they were just a limited time NB>> offer, not available (except at scalper prices) anywhere.... DS> Probably like the sausage gravy biscuit and garlic cheese toast DS> flavors of Lay's Potato Chips. NB> Yup. :) That drives me nuts. Years ago, Betty Crocker (I think) had a deal called "Mug-O-Lunch"...with noodles and beef. You put it in a cup, added hot water, let it sit for a few minutes, then eat (carefully, to not burn your mouth). I used a little less water than they called for, to make the gravy nice and thick. But, it's long gone now. The Rama Noodles bowls with vegetables, noodles, and some meat, are similar. But, the thing that disqualifies it for me is CORN, which sets my diverticulitis in my colon off. Why couldn't it have been something I already disliked, that I couldn't eat?? Also, Rama Noodles don't have a lot of fiber content. A fellow ham radio operator told me that years ago, his 2 daughters were eating a diet of these...and basically got severely constipated. They had to be rushed to the hospital with violent abdominal pain...and one of the Emergency Room nurses, who was good friends with him, said "I hate to break the news to you, but the truth is, your daughters are full of $h!+". I saw a photo awhile back on Facebook, where this truck full of Rama Noodles had crashed, spilling its load. I sent the picture to him, saying "And, you know why!!"....he replied "My daughters will be absolutely crushed"!! Daryl ....
