Know when I was still living there my Mother wanted a speaker in the back yard -- don't recall why it wasn't a simple battery- powered radio, but a wired speaker into the speaker system throughout the house. Wasn't loud enough outside so the speaker cabinet had a small amplifier inside -- so two speaker leads and two more for the power to the amp. Connector on the outside of the house. Might have been figured out as long as the speaker hadn't been discarded, but then also needed to have an audio feed from the main radio/amplifier in the Den, and part pf that system was moved to the new house.
