Subj : Update on Hy-Vee Q's To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Fri Jun 12 2020 09:56:00 Hi Daryl! DS> Or like a person entering the bank lobby...the tellers were DS> relieved that it was a robber, and not someone with COVID-19. :P BM> Worse: the robber had! DS> Probably. Last I checked the banks and credit unions were not open as far as lobby access yet; drive-throughs and ATMs are open (I'd be using that hand sanitizier!) BM> I'm sort of predicting post-COVID-19 the store hours (in general) will BM> be reduced. In most places there's no real reason to open early and BM> close late other than an attempt to capture very last customer and BM> their money. Problem is, costs money to try to capture than money: BM> wages, utilities. I will admit it has sometimes been convenient to BM> shop earlier or late than usual, so not all one-sided. DS> They also think the old folks like myself get up early and go DS> to bed early. The only time I get up early is for medical DS> issues...for when my yard man comes by to mow the lawn...or on DS> this Friday, when they come to install an upgraded electric DS> meter. As for waking hours, those people lumping us "old" folks into one category have a bit of a surprise coming! I'm more of a day person, so my schedule would coincide more with the "middle" age group. Nancy seems to be on the 'night' schedule, I'm quite sure just because it's more convenient for her. Lumping into stereotypical categories is 'fun'. :) I took time off between colleges to get together some money; worked from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. (two hours overtime, time-and-a-half on top of the 10% shift differential -- some of us said we got paid 10% more for doing 10% less. ). Anyway, Dad and I were out someplace, either in a shop on the way to lunch or at lunch. Someone overhead me kidding about 'this is my breakfast' and they made the snooty comment about young people lazing around in bed all morning after partying all night, etc., etc. I don't recall if Dad replied or I did, stating I worked for . That shut them up! BM> Especially as the summer weather hits and the "we always do in BM> summer!" occurs. Here live in a house, so can wander around the yard, BM> but those folks in apartments can only wander so far! DS> Wanderings are from the bedroom to the bathroom to the DS> kitchen...sort of what I'm doing now. But, that's because I'm DS> in hernia surgery recovery mode for at least another week. I do DS> need to start the car and run it for a minute or two, but DS> otherwise, I'm not moving it until June 17, when I see the doctor DS> for a followup exam. I've got some friends going to my area DS> pharmacy to get some medications for me. I misread your first line as "to the bathroom in the kitchen"!!! Yes, probably best to follow doctor's orders, though a careful following through of wanderlust isn't always a bad thing! ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
