Haven't heard anything definite from any of my doctors lately... but a friend that recently had a retina check, and then outpatient surgery to put a stent in her leg, reported that in both cases she had to wait in the car until they were ready for her... in the latter case, her friend/driver had to wait out in the car ansd they called him when she was coming out so that he could meet her at the door of the facility...
