BM>>>> Locally the Mississippi River is two feet over flood stage NB> BM>>> current tracking is 2-3" for here but 10" in SE Iowa. NB>>> As long as it stays away from the River....? BM>> Oddly true! :) NB>> Don't give the flooding any fuel... ;) BM> Right: don't really need any more financial troubles around here: last BM> year flood-related closures and damages; this year COVID-19-related BM> issues creating two years in a row problems. NB> And having another major flood on top of the COVID-19 stuff would NB> be a real disaster.... That would be bad. :( More extended closures for a portion of the city, flood waters are not terribly clean so that medical issue to also contend with; keeping the social distancing while building flood walls, moving items to heopfully keep out of the water, etc...... NB>>> ... Cooking tip: Wrap leftover turkey in aluminum foil and throw NB>>> it out BM>> We've wrapped and/or stored in freezer containers and then BM>> had a month or two later. NB>> I don't follow that tip, either... we tend to have it over the course NB>> of the next week or so... no need to freeze for later.... and I'd just NB>> as soon not throw away food.... ;) BM> I'm not a big fan of having the same meal the following night; a one BM> night interval is sufficient. NB> Richard's not keen on that either... so we do tend to space out NB> the leftovers... and/or present them in a different fashion... ;) Yum: turkey! Yum! Turkey leftovers! Yum - turkey pot pie. Um - turkey soup. Ah - I think I'm growing feathers! BM> The mega-Turkey at Christmas is an expected exception. NB> And even then, we'd tend to have variations on the theme, not NB> just a repeat of the first turkey meal.... ;) See above? Usually we'll do a tukey leftover meal and there will be some turkey leftover for sandwiches. If a lot of turkey left over will be frozen for much later meal. We do of course end up giving away part of the original leftover to the kids. BM> As for throwing out, that's almost a sin! NB> True.... And I do tend to think of the provoking tagline as a bit NB> on the egregious side... Now, if the leftover turkey is NB> starting to be a mold farm, that's a different story... The establishment of the Mold Farm means there was poor planning: too much not frozen! NB> ... Chicken Tikka Masala not fish 'n chips is the national NB> British dish. That could probably lead to a few trivia contest wins! ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
