Subj : Minced Garlic To : Nancy Backus From : Barry Martin Date : Tue Mar 31 2020 10:29:00 Hi Nancy! BM>>>> I have been finding pretty much all of what I need on my own. NB>>>> That's good, anyway... :) Just have to treat it as an adventure each NB>>>> time until they manage to finish the whole project, I guess.... ;) BM>>> Yup: LIS, it's a game of hide and go seek. Did notice a lot of items BM>>> seems to have settled into their new homes/positions. Frozen and BM>>> refrigerated items coming up shortly, plus the next-door section where BM>>> the liquor store was (moved over one store) is still being worked on BM>>> but this week couldn't peek in through the in-store access. Just have BM>>> to wait! NB>>> Eventually they'll have it all settled out... ;) BM>> Yes. :) Then back to knowing where just about everything is and BM>> ho-hum pushing the cart! NB>> I suspect that will be enjoyable, at least for a while.... ;) BM> Then will start the micro hide and seek: now is the macro hide and BM> seek as everything is being moved; later will be the minor tweaks as BM> products expand and contract due to availability, older flavours get BM> phased out, new ones get included, etc., etc. NB> The more usual needing to look for things.... ;) True. LIS in an earlier message some of the new locations I'm hoping are still temporary: they just don't seem to mesh properly. And I'll admit part of that thinking is remembering the old, on purpose not remembering the current because it has been changing with the remodel, and runs on/lack of getting in merchandise with the COVID-19. We'll get back to normal soon enough. BM> Also appears the refrigeratored section is being replaced by sections BM> with gless doors. Old was open shelves so the cool would escape; new BM> the doors will hold the cool in. NB> Our store has some of each.... frozen is almost all the glass NB> doors... with the extra precautions for the coronavirus, there's NB> lots of handles to keep wiping down... :) Frozen had been all glass and is being upgraded with new fixtures. Looks like refrigerated will be mostly if not all glass too. The general frozen/refrigerated/dairy sections have been in process of being switched over the last few weeks; they had emptied part of the side wall of diary (sour cream, cottage cheese, dips), orange and other juices -- not quite sure where that went. I assume some temporarily to a 'foster home' on the floor as shoppers will want. BM>> ...Did find something out which sort of BM>> explained some of my confusion in locating a specific item once I found BM>> the group: the old store had the group horizontally while the new store BM>> they're vertical. Guess subconsciously trained to look left and right BM>> which is why I was overlooking things now. NB>> Definitely working on making your brain get exercised.... :) BM> Maybe I can become a muscle-head?! NB> Um, that's not quite what I meant... :) Oh. BM>>> Saw on TV where the next (that I know about) public shred event is at BM>>> the Davenport Public Library: hey! look at all this new material to BM>>> read!! NB>>> Before or after the shred event..... BM>> Both: some never made it to the shredder! NB>> Ah... stuff you might have had shredded turned out to be keepable NB>> after all... ;) BM> Others found it interesting! NB> Ooopps... a good reason to NOT drop things off to be shredded... And I don't know if that shred event occurred or has been canceled. AFAIK the area libriaries and museums are closed, though a commercial for the museum in Davenport is still running which indicates they're open and even have free admission on Thursday nights. ....Curious Kitty did his thing: the top portion of the web page with hours indicates the museum, cafe, etc., is open but the bottom panel indicates closed. A little sloppy in the updating. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
