Subj : Miss.RvrDamBreach-Davenpt To : Nancy Backus From : Barry Martin Date : Thu Feb 06 2020 08:19:00 Hi Nancy! BM>> That was pretty much my attitude. The "carrot on a stick" BM>> was view the pictures. Both my Mother and my Aunt have zero computer BM>> knowledge and seem to think they can't learn. OK, so I need to do BM>> something different; I selected a piece of hardware -- the digital BM>> picture frame -- which seemed to be ultra simple, and it doesn't look BM>> like it has anything to do with a computer. Wrote instructions that BM>> my Mother and Aunt should be able to understand. Both have people who BM>> can help. NB>> And you might be the one to finally actually walk them through the NB>> process at some point.... I suppose what they probably would have NB>> preferred was your sending them a package of all the pictures printed NB>> out so that they could put them into scrapbooks... or better yet, NB>> the completed scrapbooks.... :) BM> They would have preferred, I might have complied if not for the BM> shipping cost, especially overseas. Plus it seems a box undergoes BM> inspection by Austria Post and possibly subject to the 'I will accept BM> the package' documentation like what happened with the digital picture BM> frame I sent my Aunt (she says she signed the paperwork but ended up BM> being returned and I brought over in my luggage last summer). NB> Yes, I remember that fiasco... Probably would have had to carry NB> over the scrapbook for your aunt.... although you'd be ok for NB> shipping one to your mother, USPS being a little less NB> bureaucratic, perhaps... ;) Yes, seems I can ship just about anything to NH. "You said a case of loose bullets, sir? I'll just put this 'Rattle OK' sticker on the box." NB> Ah, well... You'll just have to give them personal NB> demonstrations/hands on lectures when you visit them, I guess.... NB> with a little exposure to actually using the picture frames, they NB> might decide it's not quite so arcane after all... :) Possibly! Last summer my Mother did have the frame out and she has seen the vacation pictures but had not seen a different presentation on a second thumbdrive (pictures and short videos my Mother would have been interested in but not my Aunt). We never did get around to seeing them: my Mother too tired or too busy or not enough time or.... As for my Aunt, I don't know if my Mother showed my Aunt or what. My Mother was staying with my Aunt in her apartment (I was in the hotel a couple blocks away). Early in the vacation I was going to show and it was a 'later'; admittedly after a while I forgot about it. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
