Years ago (early 1990's) I had a communications programme I used to dial in to the BBS (before I took over). Worked fine except when I used a specific function - which had worked fine originally. Reloaded (from a floppy!) and all was good until that function was needed again. Eventually found just one file was being corrupted so just re-install the one. Eventually renamed the corrupted file, reloaded the file from the floppy and never had a problem the remainder of the time I used that computer.
