  Plus, in the winter cold...there are no insects, no heat illness, and
no tornadoes.

  I stopped by the day before. They got several items from me that my
Mom had bought, but never used...including a toaster, a convection oven,
and a blender. I also got some items for their dachshund, and I've
become "his uncle". <G>

  I'm going to spend the night with them in early February when I have
bladder stone surgery, and he's probably going to wonder "what are you
still doing here at this hour??" <G>. I'll sleep in this nice reclining
chair (as long as I don't have a catheter, I'll deal with the hematuria,
dysuria, and frequent voiding every 5 minutes), but I likely won't get
much sleep that night. But, we'll have a pillow on my lap, so the dog
doesn't do what Janice's dachshund did to me just before I proposed to
her. :P

  The thing is, if someone wins the lottery, they pay the price big
time. One family won $315 million, and the guy lamented "I wish I had
destroyed the ticket". His daughter and granddaughter died from drug
overdoses, from the lavish lifestyle after hitting the powerball...and
there was so much fighting for the finances with the rest of the family,
and the "so called" friends and family that "came out of the woodwork".

  My late parents took several cruises right after they retired...but
stopped doing it years ago. My Dad died 13 years ago, and my Mom didn't
care for them anymore...they basically have gotten so big on the ships,
that it's ridiculous.

  As for me, I'll take a land cruise on Amtrak...which I will do in
July, when I take a circuitous tour down to Slidell, Louisiana. But,
it'll allow me to get away from things for a few days.
