Subj : Being Full To : Nancy Backus From : Barry Martin Date : Wed Nov 06 2019 08:52:00 Hi Nancy! BM> Woke up to just under a quarter-inch of snow! Not the earliest BM> recorded snowfall but definitely towards the the top of that list. And BM> they're talking the possibility of two to three inches on Halloween! NB> Which as it turned out, you did get... we only had rain, and then NB> high winds Thursday night into Friday afternoon... Lately has been nice, or at least no more snow - yet. They are talking flurries overnight and some accumulation this weekend - maybe an inch. Did manage to get most of the leaves picked up for the yard waste pickup last Monday but lots more waiting to fall. BM>> Yet for a very minute percentage a sniffle could be life-threatening. NB>> Yup, particularly those with a very compromised immune system, or NB>> very susceptible to severe respiratory illness... One of those I used NB>> to care for had COPD... if she caught a cold, chances were it would NB>> go to pneumonia in no time flat... at the first signs of the latter, NB>> I was on the phone with the doctor's office to call in a script for NB>> antibiotics... if we caught it in time, we could avoid that trip to NB>> the ER... :) BM> Yes.... Sort of reminded me of the handicapped vehicle parking thread BM> we had a little while ago. Maybe the person looks healthy; looks can BM> be deceiving. Same for "oh it's just a runny nose": for most it's BM> carry an extra Kleenex, for a few it's doctor time. As always, no one BM> rule or consideration for everyone. NB> Exactly... not always self-evident... but one does need to know NB> what the situation is for one's self and for those they care NB> for.... :) And even be semi-observant of the people around: not the runny nose will turn into an episode requiring hospitalization while at the grocery store but one never knows when a cardiac issue could occur, or even stretching for a can on the top shelf and getting bopped. Neither has happened to me but I some time back I did help a petite little ol' lady get something from the top shelf and gently warned her to take a step back in case I jostled a can and it fell. NB>> ... Gee! Slow day on the nets ... only 1,100 messages to read! BM> I had 100% of the messages in this packet! NB> As did I, for this echo, anyway... ;) It's been a little quite around here lately; didn't get anything more done with the extra time! ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
