Subj : Stormy To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Mon Oct 14 2019 07:11:00 Hi Daryl! BM>And some people tolerate warmer temperatures better than others. DS> I'm one who PREFERS the cold weather. While it makes the DS> arthritis hurt more, it means no insects (especially the stinging DS> ones), no heat illness, and no tornadoes. There are good points and bad points to all seasons (as well as everything else). I prefer cool over heat: easier for me to get comfortable when I'm not sweatin'. OTOH I do like the challenge (briefly, please!) and the change of pace. BTW, has been juuuust above freezing here the last few mornings. ...Bit of chit-chat on the local news as part of the segue into the weather. One was warming up their car, then went out and discovered they had forgotten to turn the heater on! BM>I haven't noticed any Fall colours but it does appear the green leaves BM>in the trees aren't as an intense green. Cooler in the mountains, so BM>probably why. DS> In a west Little Rock shopping center, many of the trees start DS> turning color in late August. Probably depends on the type of tree as well as the tree itself. When we had trees here on the lot (had to be cut down because they died) the maple in the back yard had a lot of greenish leaves late in the season, sometimes late November. And yes, it would drop them on to the snow. BM>"Hey! That was my reserved seat!" DS> Or the birds wait for you to sit down, or finish washing your DS> car, then it's "target practice" time. Bird Viewing Rule #1: Never look up at a bird! BM>Definitely darker earlier! Used to be bright outside when I'd go down BM>for TV Time, now I'm shutting the blinds up here an hour or so after BM>dinner. DS> We "fall back" on November 3. OK thanks -- on the next page of the calendar and not that important other than we'll waste that hour gained resetting all the clocks around the house. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® .... ~ ~ ~Why is an alarm clock going "off" when it actually turns on?~ ~ ~ ~ --- MultiMail/Win32 v0.47 þ wcECHO 4.2 ÷ ILink: The Safe BBS þ Bettendorf, IA --- QScan/PCB v1.20a / 01-0462 * Origin: ILink: CFBBS | cfbbs.no-ip.com | 856-933-7096 (454:1/1) .
