Subj : Do Not Call To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Fri Aug 30 2019 10:36:00 Hi Daryl! BM>Sort of speaking of "Do Not Call" (the Subject) the spammers were busy BM>yesterday: lots of nuisance calls. DS> I have a MagicJack line for "voice mail". It's not connected to DS> a phone, but folks leave a message, and it creates an MP3 file DS> that I get via email. After listening to it, I decide whether or DS> not to return the call. DS> On my Android phone, I have a FREE app called "CALL DETECTOR". DS> It weeds out spammers, telemarketers, political/charity fund DS> raising, scammer, nuisance, etc. calls. Unfortunately, a landline DS> version isn't available. DS> But, with these 2 deals, I avoid the majority of these callers. DS> If they don't respond after I say "Hello", I hang up, then block DS> the number. Yes, if a consideration here, just doesn't seem practical for our usage. Need to get "NCID" going again -- it does work with landlines. Only reason I paused the project was it was havign problems with a hum on the line to up here -- need to have thet corrected (either I move or an electrician moves the electrcial feed to up here which has the phone, Ethernet and television in the same run). ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
