Subj : Re: food, etc To : NANCY BACKUS From : Daryl Stout Date : Sun Aug 11 2019 11:35:00 Nancy, NB>Just save them for a treat once you CAN have them.... ;) And enjoy them NB>then, too... :) Oh, I will. :) Especially considering I *LOVE* sauteed onions...such as with fried beef liver (that's the ONLY liver I'll eat). But, I can't eat liver and onions very often, as it sends my triglycerides and cholesterol through the roof. One elderly man couldn't say "cholesterol", so it came out as "castor oil". Either one have bad effects on you. Also, having a meal of baked beans, hard boiled eggs, and onions, will lead to severe flatulence. Apparently, the baked beans though have the oxylates, which can lead to kidney stones, so those are eaten sparingly. However, if we could use the flatulence our colons create for fuel in our cars, I'd buy a case of Bush's baked beans (never tried them, but hear they're real good), get the "secret formula" from "Duke" (or whoever plays him now...I understand the original "Duke" had to be put down, or he died)...and tell OPEC what they can do with their gas prices. Yesterday, I saw regular gas for $2.22.9 cents a gallon...but depending on what part of Little Rock you're in, it can be much higher. On one of the ham radio traffic nets I do, last night, three of the food items discussed were: 1) Buffalo meat. Apparently, it's a big thing in the UK. I know some restaurants offer "buffalo wings", but it just doesn't sound appetizing to me. 2) and 3) Meatloaf sandwich. A restaurant in Omaha, Arkansas (near the Missouri border) offers this, along with "cheeseburger soup" (that's a new one on me). I was a bit leary on the cheeseburger soup, but was salivating on that meat loaf sandwich. NB>... Eat Salmon ... the OTHER pink meat My late Mom used to make up salmon patties for dinner. For fish, I like salmon, flounder, cod, and catfish...preferably boneless filets. I'm not sure what type fish the restaurants like Burger King and McDonald's use for their sandwiches. Speaking of boneless, there was a post on Facebook of a huge watermelon (the big Hope, Arkansas watermelon festival was this weekend), and it noted "Boneless Watermelon". :P Now, there is a "seedless watermelon" (I think it's more aptly named the "personal watermelon"), but I've never been able to find it. But, a slice of cold watermelon on a hot summer day, hits the spot. We're under Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories. On Saturday, repeated thunderstorms across the area brought nearly 5 inches of rain in 8 hours. The Little Rock Fire Department had to perform numerous water rescues. Flash Flood Warnings were out, and there are signs in the areas that note "Road Unsafe When Under Water". You can educate people all day along about safety (insert your category here)...but some basically want to be "Darwin Award Candidates". :P Daryl === þ OLX 1.53 þ A public restroom is where a flush beats a full house. --- SBBSecho 3.08-Win32 * Origin: The Thunderbolt BBS - tbolt.synchro.net (454:1/33) .
