When it's that necessary, they do seem to be able to manage it... :)

One does want to have sufficient stores for those occasions... I try to
have at least a week's worth of things to fix, some that can be done
quickly and simply... currently, I've been working on using some of that
stock, as the fridge and freezer were both full.... ;)  Being away for a
week, and then mostly eating out for the week I got back meant that it
was just piling up at home...
