Subj : Health Was: Nuts To : Nancy Backus From : Barry Martin Date : Sat Jun 22 2019 11:37:00 Hi Nancy! NB>>> So, neat but not obsessively so... :) BM>> Right plus goes more along with the last part of "do as I say, not as BM>> I do" as my Computer Room is a little ("ahem!") messy. NB>> Should she ask, I suppose you could respond with, that's why I NB>> want you to learn how to do things better than I.... ;) BM> At this point I'm not sure that logic would work. Plus I do need to BM> clean up, But First! NB> Yeah, she might be too young still... :) And eventually you NB> probably will get to the clean up.... maybe even before Autumn NB> grows up... :) I hope so! NB>>> As the expressways have more traffic, more attention is paid to NB>>> making sound abatement.... BM>> True. We might also have the ability to allow for a greater distance BM>> between the various interstates, etc., in the area and "then city": BM>> side of the roads usually has a wide strip of land, sometimes just BM>> grass and wildflowers, sometimes trees, which act to absorb some of the BM>> road noise, as well as put a little distance between the noisy traffic BM>> and our ears. Get to Chicago and they don't have the luxury of space BM>> like that. NB>> It depends to some extent how built up things were before the NB>> planning for the big roads started.... Ours is more like yours NB>> than that of the big cities.... BM> Yes, a city but not a CITY. There are probably some reading whose BM> jaws dropped at my 12 minute commute to work - they spend 12 minutes BM> getting out of their driveway! My "I-74 is going to be widened to BM> three lanes" -- we have exits wider than that! NB> I'm just thankful I'm not living in a CITY, like that.... ;) As always it's all relative. I was raised where there is a big hill in the back yard and a patch of woods. Others raised in a high-rise apartment building and their backyard is a small desk jutting from the side of the building. BM>>> Think how sometimes the planes sound mighty loud and/or seem BM>>> way too low! Patterns do change for weather conditions, but sometimes BM>>> one wonders if the pilot misunderstood or misread and is at 500 feet BM>>> instead of 5,000! NB>>> I do try NOT to wonder that way... much less disquieting that way... ;) BM>> Why am I thinking along the lines of 'ignorance is bliss'?! NB>> More along the lines of disasters aren't the norm, so no real NB>> reason to worry... if they do happen, then there they are.... ;) BM> Pretty much yes. The thought never goes beyond "gee they're flying BM> lower thn normal" and into the 'OMG! '. Now that you BM> brought it up (thanks? ) any flight emergency would probably BM> attempt to land on I-74 a few blocks from here. NB> You'd have a front row seat.... Well, to everything but the landing: houses and trees blocking. ¯ ® ¯ Barry_Martin_3@ ® ¯ @Q.COM ® ¯ ® ....
