BM>Actually they do work fine with MultiMail -- maybe not with the usual BM>plug-in editor. Using MM here with SEdit. DS> Then, it's a glitch with Notepad. And I found later with WordPad. Or at least here with XP. BM>Ahhh! NotePad displays the degree symbol as that mystery o-overstrike-/ BM>character! ...And so does WordPad. OK, so that problem appears to be BM>due to Microsoft's introductory-level word processing. DS> A lot of stuff Microsoft has done lately...especially in DS> relation to Windows 10 OS's for the desktop and phone, has left a DS> lot of users very angry...with crashing apps, getting notes that DS> "their version of Windows is not authentic", etc. They just can't DS> seem to accept the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Which just added to the reasons for me to switch to Linux. I have reasonably current/fast/etc. computers which work fine with XP, and while I can appreciate the latest-and-greatest I really don't feel the need to upgrade. Just like I can appreciate and admire a brand new car I really don't have the need nore desire for one. (And yes, when I do get a new motherboard and CPU, etc., it will be reasonably current - and last for a decade or so.) Not arguing for nor against Microsoft, just how I do things. Personally I'm glad not to be stuck with my old XT tootling aling at 4.77 MHz. It would be just fine for typing messages; not so good for watching TV! BM>As long as it works! I've done than a few projects a little oddly BM>because didn't know a better way (common for me!), the real way was too BM>expensive for a one/few time use, etc., etc. DS> When I ran GT Power, I used a template and created several DS> menus with the program called DeadPaint (I don't think it's DS> registerable anymore). But, what got me was a "joking statement" DS> in the docs, where it said "Dead is a registered trademark of The DS> Undertaker, and Dr. Jack Kevor... never mind". That kind of thing was rather nice back in the day. Every so often I see To Do Lists, FAQs for utilties created and supported by individuals -- "why doesn't have this option?" "Because I didn't need it but you're welcome to figure out how to do it and add." DS> þ OLX 1.53 þ We are born naked, wet, and hungry.
