Subj : Review - Solar Eclipse :) To : All From : Barry Martin Date : Mon Apr 08 2024 15:40:00 (A somewhat tongue-in-cheek social media-style review.) Hi Folks! I'll give Mother Nature's Solar Eclipse a 4« out of 5. Half- point deduction only because I was expecting it to get darker than it did and the wildlife didn't react the way the news articles said they would. ....Yes, I was expecting it to get darker: here in the Quad Cities (about 180 miles west of Chicago -- Rock Island and Moline, IL; Bettendorf and Davenport, IA) did have clear skies and 91% coverage. I (and several others) thought it would get darker. Not 'midnight dark', but three- quarters thought would be dark enough for solar sensor switched lights to turn on, plus some news articles indicated the day birds would roost and the night bird would come out. ...Did get a little bit quieter for a while but that might have been because the hawk was doing his usual afternoon hunting. ¯ ® ¯ BarryMartin3@MyMetronet.NET ® ¯ ® ....
