If you're using Linux you might be able to:

   (input)   | grep -o '[0-9]*'" >  /mnt/ramdisk/Health_Pi/SD_$IP_

Passes through only the numerals zero through nine and writes them to a
temporary file on my ramdisk.  Don't ask how it's done as I patch 
together stuff from  the web.
