"MARTIAN SUNSPOT" TURNS TOWARD EARTH: A sunspot so big it can be seen from Mars
is turning toward Earth today. Visible through ordinary eclipse glasses, the
behemoth has a mixed-polarity magnetic field that poses a threat for X-class
solar flares. Any such eruptions in the days ahead will be squarely
