Here too.  Not sure if by custom or legalities.  (Semi-tangential)  Car 
dealerships are closed on Sundays because of an Iowa law.  Every few 
years a little bit of a buzz about opening but in general the public 
(and so the dealers) like the dealerships to be closed to give a day to 
wander without being bugged by salespeople.  Same doesn't apply for the 
banks, etc.
