Subj : Todays Blooper To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Tue Jun 15 2021 07:16:00 Hi Daryl! DS> Hi, Barry...long time, no type. Figured you were busy getting your BBS on the cloud. (Good thing I caught that typo: left one of the b's out of BBS!) BM> (Customer, who had doubtlessly heard the incorrect pronounciation BM> before) It's "Pijz" - a French name -- and gave a brief history of the BM> name's history which I've forgotten. He was somewhat impressed I could BM> pronounce it correctly when told how as it's not a sound in English. DS> Sort of the like the commercial for this "Babbel" language DS> learning deal. My late father used something similar to learn DS> Portuguese, when he traveled to Rio De Janiero, Brazil. I think I probably should have tried something like Babbel to (re-)learn German, instead did it mostly text-based (essentially phrasebooks and created notes). My overall learning mode has always been via texts so just automatically went the same route. BM> ... How deep is a frog pond? Nee..deep, nee..deep DS> I thought I toad you about that one. I'm a slough learner. ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
