I think my sister may have seen her on that tour in the 1990s. Yes, it sort of started in 1996 when she went on a tour with another lady singer, Paula Cole, and used that name part way through that tour when they were joined by Lisa Loeb, Michelle McAdorey. It was carried on again in 1997, 1998 and 1999 fairly successfully. 16th highest grossing music tour at the time.. ($16 million in 1997) Singers joined in, on and off, during the tour so you probably never knew what to expect.. Some of the better known performers were Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega Mary Chapin Carpenter, Meredith Brooks, and quite a few more in smaller roles. A new Lilith Fair tour was tried in 2010 but wasn't quite as successful since the world had changed some so Sarah decided to end the idea after that. It came about originally when concert and radio people back then all refused to allow 2 women singers to perform in a row.. RM>> Funny story.. I once went to an open air Free concert near Toronto >> and there was almost noone there in the audience, like a dozen or >> so people. MP>Wow, that is pretty cool. Yes, a bit of a shock when I saw her later. That small audience was not quite as bad as it sounded. It was a tiny outdoor stage area in or near Ontario Place that probably only seated 50 people when full. Totally open air, no lighting or electricity that I noticed. She sang and played an acoustic guitar. Just waked out from the side. No one to introduce her, although I think she put up a sign with her name on it or I'd not have known who she was.. --- * SLMR Rob * Screw the prime directive... set phasers on kill! * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (954:895/54) .
