Subj : Ripping DVD/BD in Linux To : Gamgee From : Shurato Date : Wed Oct 29 2025 04:47:00 Ga> Hello all, Ga> Recently I've wanted to start trying to rip my DVD/BluRay movie collection Ga> in order to be able to stream them from a home Plex server. I've had Ga> pretty limited success doing this in Linux so far... Ga> I've tried 'Handbrake' and it won't even find the title of the DVD disc Ga> that's in a drive. Was going to try 'MakeMKV' but it seems quite Ga> convoluted to get installed and the program hasn't been updated Ga> in like 15 years. Ga> Wondering if anyone has had good results doing this in Linux, and if so, Ga> what software did you use? Anything obvious that I'm missing here? Ga> Thanks for any help you can provide. I use MakeMKV in Windows. A new version was just released several months ago and the keys are kept up to date. I use an LG 4K drive. -- Shurato, Sysop Shurato's Heavenly Sphere (ssh, telnet, pop3, ftp, nntp, ,wss) (Ports 22,23,110,21,119,999) *** THE READER V4.50 [freeware] --- * Origin: Shurato's Heavenly Sphere telnet://shsbbs.net (954:300/2) .
