Assuming that you have no issues playing the disks on the PC, only thing I can
figure is maybe Handbrake somehow installed while missing a dependency?

I have another set with that warning that ripped just fine.

Only other times I have problems, it usually means a problem with the
disk -- I can no longer play it on my "TV" DVD player, either.
