If you enter a name, you may see a similar name pop up. If it refers to the same person you wanted to enter, that means they are already in the database, and you would then accept that name as someone in your tree. That would be a good thing, since they already have verifiable information about themselves, hopefully with other family members already entered. We live on a global planet. We are all related to pretty much everyone else in some way. WikiTree helps us see those relationships. On Fridays, I receive an email from WikiTree with cousins around the world they have found, and I post those relationships that WikiTree has found for me.
