Subj : Square/Round Dance News To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Fri Oct 15 2021 05:22:08 Update on the November, 2021 issue of The Modern Square: While the November, 2021 issue will NOT be released until Sunday, Oct. 17 (due to weather and other issues), I've decided that because of the large size of this months e-Edition, instead of sending out a PDF of the print file, I've made a SEPARATE FILE, with just the pictures submitted. This separate file will be available via the ASSDF website ONLY, and will NOT go out in an email blast. This will be the case from now on, and be whether 1 or 100+ pictures are submitted. If no pictures are sent in, then no file will be prepared or created for that particular month. To obtain the file, you will have to go to the page on the ASSDF website with The Modern Square: https://www.arkansassquaredance.com/the-modern-square and click on the desired link. The remainder of the e-Edition will remain as it is...with links to the various websites, and the email addresses, all clickable. As for the print edition, since we have restrictions on the number of pages, depending on the amount of content submitted (ads, club reports, etc.), some items may need to be cut. Right now, I only have two club reports, and are expecting maybe two more. Basically, either the other clubs have no news to contribute, or no one wants to send in a report. Either way, no one outside their club will know what is going on. Three clubs are still dark (not dancing), due to COVID-19 issues, so I'm not expecting anything from them. However, if what I get from the other 2 club reports doesn't bring me to the needed page requirement, then items on the Special Events Calendar in the print edition will have to be REMOVED...or it may be REDUCED to a 2 to 3 month time frame only. I can't wait forever for folks to send stuff in, and I can't force them to do so. I'm hoping in future months that I don't have to enact a deadline extension...never mind the fact that the Postal Service is now taking a minimum of 5 days to deliver First Class Mail. If I can get back to the FIRM DEADLINE of the 14th of the month, before the month of issue, I would prefer that. Items that miss the deadline will have to wait until the next issue...whether folks like it or not. Or, they can get someone else to do their club report; or they just won't have anything in the publication.
