Subj : Square/Round Dance News To : All From : Daryl Stout Date : Mon Jul 17 2023 08:17:22 The August, 2023 issue of The Modern Square was released late last evening, Sunday, July 16, 2023...and is now on the website of the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation (ASSDF), located at: https://www.arkansassquaredance.com/the-modern-square On that page, you'll find links to the current print edition, a compact version of the e-Edition (no fliers, ads, or photos), and the full e-Edition. Size wise, the compact e-Edition is the smallest, the print edition is in the middle, and the full e-Edition (with fliers, ads, and photos), is the largest. The full e-Edition is also online on The Thunderbolt BBS in the file area "Back Issues Of The Modern Square". As noted last month, the print edition will END with the December, 2023 issue, to be released late on November 14, 2023. The ASSDF Board recommended, and the delegates approved at the June 3, 2023 meeting, to END the print edition, due to the subscription cost not paying for the needed postage and printing expenses. Several years ago, The Modern Square nearly bankrupted the ASSDF, so many changes were done to try to keep the issue going. Unfortunately, increasing costs and declining subscriptions no longer make it economically feasible to continue it. You can get a FREE e-Edition by sending an email message, requesting such, to assdfmodernsquare at gmail dot com -- both the full e-Edition, and the compact e-Edition will continue, after the print edition ends. Those with print subscription expirations in 2024 will be contacted soon by ASSDF Treasurer, Sheila Gesing...asking if they wish to donate the prorated balance ($1.67 per remaining months/issues) to the ASSDF, or to receive a refund. Work on the September, 2023 issue will begin around August 10, 2023, with the deadline for items at 9pm US Central Time on August 14, 2023. Ads, fliers, reports, photos, etc., must be emailed to assdfmodernsquare at gmail dot com no later than that time...or they will have to wait until the October, 2023 issue. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. You will need a PDF viewer to view any of the files.
