Rixter Sadly, i am still blocked. Deutsche Telekom has some different ranges for their domestic customers on dynamic IPs. Today i am in the 79.202.51.* range. Do you have alot of ddos attacks etc and many large IP ranges blocked? It is better to use something like fail2ban i guess. Blocking huge IP ranges is problematic always. You will get alot of legitimate users blocked that way. Also big chunks of the internet runs on dynamic IPs. So the bot you block one day, can be a decent user the next day (bots can run on infected normal user Computers). Blocking should be temporary also, unless you are 100% sure it is a datacenter behind the IP (forever) and not a domestic IP range/ user. Do we have windows Sysops here with recommendations how to handle bots with extra tools for Synchronet on windows? Gemini AI recommended: CrowdSec, IPBan, EvlWatcher, Win2Ban (for Windows in general, not specifically for Synchronet) But i think synchronet itself comes with some defence measures already. https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:block-hackers?s[]=bots Mindsurfer --- SBBSecho 3.28-Linux * Origin: FuNToPiA BBS - telnet://funtopia.synchro.net:3023 (954:31/30) .
