Subj : Current Star Trek shows To : All From : Nightfox Date : Tue Mar 01 2022 11:05:47 Are there any Star Trek fans here? And has anyone watched Star Trek: Picard, Discovery, and/or Lower Decks? I've seen Discovery through season 3 (I haven't started season 4 yet, though I plan to). I thought a couple things were a little odd (technology, and Klingon re-design), but I still watched it for the entertainment. I've been getting a little tired of the prequel trend though (and I've heard the upcoming Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will be yet another prequel, set on the Enterprise commanded by Christipher Pike, set before the Kirk yers). I've also watched Star Trek: Picard season 1, and I'm looking forward to season 2 (which is coming out very soon). It's not the same style of Star Trek as The Next Generation, but that's okay. I like that it continues the story of Picard, and it seems to be fairly consistent with canon (one exception is that there was one episode that showed a hologram of the original NCC-1701 Enterprise that looked like the redesigned one from Discovery, but I don't think that's a big deal). I've seen some of Lower Decks (most of season 1, and I plan to continue watching). It's interesting to see a Star Trek cartoon that's canon, and it has a fairly humorous take on Star Trek - I like it. I feel like it's a little odd that there have been several prequel series and movies now (first Enterprise, 2001-2005, then Discovery, and the JJ Abrams movies). There was about 100 years (I think) between the original series and the Next Generation, and I've often thought it would be interesting to see a Star Trek TV series or movie (or two) set on the Enterprise B or C - We've only seen those ships once in the Star Trek canon. Also, I've been a bit disappointed that there have not been any movies made with the Deep Space 9 or Voyager casts (the exception is that Admiral Janeway appeared in one of the Next Generation movies). I thought the Next Generation movies went downhill a bit too; I wasn't really impressed with Nemesis. --- SBBSecho 3.14-Win32 * Origin: Digital Distortion: digdist.synchro.net (21:1/137) .
