 Burnham seems like they're tailoring her character for Rayner to be a

 I suppose I really like Strange New Worlds and am judging Discovery
 against it.

 I think partly, I don't like 32nd century tech. I like the old-school
 feel of SNW.

 I was shocked at how much weight Mary Wiseman has gained. You'd think
 in the 32nd century they could do transporter liposuction or syntha-ice
 cream or something...
