The logical, "baseball being popular in more than the just the US is good for the sport" combined with, "the US should win everything because I'm rooting for them" makes for an interesting mental space. So it's finally getting there. Yeah, lots of Americans still don't take it seriously, but most of the other baseball countries seem to be up on it, and it seems like even Americans are getting into it, now.
