Did they have any water suppression? Not sure if they did.

I think there proximity to the tank farm is also in question when you see the
damage the flying concrete etc. did to some of those tanks too.

Seems (in hindsight) strange they thought the most powerful blast off could be handled by the config on the ground they put in place.
