Nighttime is best.  This launch was done at night with a clear sky and a bright moon.  It 
almost looked like it was heading for the moon.

No.  Would have been nice though.  But we did see one from 1 mile away years ago.  
There was so much traffic from people wanting to see the launch, that we had to block 
the main road.  We parked near the space museum which had a huge screen.  We 
watched it both on the screen, and live from about a mile away.  Cool!
