Green was my preference too.  I've always preferred light text on a black background.  It is odd after so, so many years people are turning to "dark mode" to get away from a stark white background.

The Amdek unit I have is only 12" or 13", with the actual part of the screen used smaller.  The monitor sat on top of the computer, so it didn't really take anymore space for the whole set up as a modern desktop does now.

Even with a laptop and wide screen monitor on my desk, the difference in desk real estate used isn't that significant.

Maybe I should bring an XT to work.  They do have a "Bring your own device" option.
