Right on, aLPHA - I've found that the C= community is really great... while it sucks, theres a couple awesome groups on FB that are VERY knowledgable about C= stuff...

Did you get any accessories? The best, IMO, is an Ultimate II+ - which is an SD2EIC and several other THINGS, at once... but an SD2EIC is great, and JiffyDOS makes things much quicker w/ better command line options for whipping around C= file systems easier.

Glad you took the plunge. I got into the C= demoscene and historical phreaking/hacking software - pretty fun to relive and learn things that were before my time.
