I had a Smena 35, wonderful lens, flimsy little piece of plastic. Spring 
loaded shutter, no meter. No rangefinder.

It was a wonderful object lesson in that all photography requires is an eye 
for composition and a way to focus light onto film. Shoot "Sunny 16", and 
you could eyeball your exposures. Understand depth of field and you could 
set the focus to a middle distance and forget it.
