Baen, a book publisher, got attacked by a cancel campaign. Their response to it
was to make the forum accesible only for registered users, and you had to
demonstrate you had purchased one of their books in order to be allowed in.

This works because cancel trolls and basement activists don t believe it is
worth it to spend 4 USD to troll a forum.
