We used a LAN-based email system called Quickmail and needed 3 or 4 servers to support 70 clients. I bought a site license for Eudora 2.2, set up a BSD box on an unused desktop and moved all of our mail services over to it. Figured out how to push out address books, built auto-responders when Eudora 3.0 came out for the customer service team, and generally loved it.
