Some of them were even intentional! I remember inheriting an FTP site
when I came into a company that was used for customer file transfer with
user/pass.

My predecessor hadn't turned off anon FTP, and we had directories upon
directories with dot-filenames and a ton of porn. If you wanted a porn
collection back then, the quickest way was to leave an FTP site open.
