³ You probably could, we messed around with some and Applesoft.  But things can
³ get out of hand pretty quickly, unless they're only using common BASIC
³ commands/functions.  Otherwise you end up having to figure out what it does,
³ and then how you're going to do it, on whatever version you're working in.

Back then, as a young teenager, things like that would not have occurred to
me.  I would have figured "it just doesn't work."  Having worked in IT for
30 or so years now, I can confirm that last sentence is correct.  Sometimes
it is just better to rewrite something.
