I can parse the sentence fine.
 
One of the supposed phobic instances you mentioned I did not see.  The
other one was some people pointing out how entertainment media sometimes
over-represents the community vs. its percentage of the actual population.
Nothing phobic there, either, just someone's observation.
 
If you cannot parse sentences without finding some "phobia" to be upset about,
maybe your "sentence parsing" complaint is an example of you projecting your
own shortcomings onto others.
