It was exciting! Yes, working on this 20 year old Acorn reminded me of the fact (long forgotten) that for a good while back in the day a 2 year old computer was basically fit for the bin. Not that I want to bin the Acorn... It's just when I'm coding on it I start work in an emulator on an M1 Mac, then move it to the real Acorn for optimisation.
