I haven't seen a card with the extra power requirements come past in recent
times.  #1 Son gave me a GTX 1050ti to meet min specs for a game he wants to
play with, it doesn't require extra power either.  In the past I've generally
just used an adapter on a regular SATA line.

I was also have a moment of either dyslexia, poor eyesight ( a given these
days), or both, but it is in fact an 8 pin header, not 6.. probably added to
the confusion.for what its also worth, the 4 pin supply isn't sufficient to
get it powered up either.
