Just a little correction: The expansion cartridge was for the C64, and  
it only allowed running CP/M with 40 columns...

The C128 had a Z80 on-board, so running CP/M here was possible out-of- 
the-box by booting the CP/M disk (in 40 or 80 columns mode).
