Subj : Re: Big nostalgia hits To : All From : Blue White Date : Sun Nov 19 2023 10:09:10 My first computer was a TI 99/4a. It had the cassette tape drive instead of floppies. Much like the sound of that modems make, the sound of the cassette deck reading the programs from tape is a big nostalgia thing. They actually start out sounding a little similar. I got to the point where I could tell if the program that was being read from the tape had an error in it (or if it had an error when it was written to tape) because of the sounds the process would make near the end of the reading the program in. I don't remember it now, but ~12 y/o me knew. :) .... "Mmmmmmmm.....chocolate." --- MultiMail/DOS * Origin: possumso.fsxnet.nz * SSH:2122/telnet:24/ftelnet:80 (21:4/134) .
