I think it was the hassle of having to compile a BT-compatible binary nodelist for Maximus, my BBS software, and a FD nodelist -- the things we did for a couple of dozen KB back then! I also had plans on moving the BBS to OS/2, and there were BinkleyTerm, Maximus and Squish packages native to OS/2, which made the switch easy. I started with Telegard, moved to Maximus, then went private for a time, and re-emerged on Synchronet 3.x. ....
